The Concept Core module consists of databases and tools for handling concepts. A concept is a tag, i.e. a category, topic, person, organization, place, event or object.

The module consists of:

• Database system for controlled vocabularies with categories and topics.
• Options available for populating the database with iMatrics’ standard taxonomy and/or IPTC Media Topics.
• Database system for entities, which by default has a lot of entities maintained by iMatrics that are based on data from Wikidata, Wikipedia and Openstreetmaps.
• Concept management system (in iMatrics’ webportal or via API) for maintaining all concepts.

The Auto-tagging module is used to automatically attach or suggest tags that the engine deem appropriate for a given article.

The module consists of:

• Automatic classification of categories and topics according to the Customer’s current taxonomy.
• Automatic entity tagging including Named Entity Recognition (NER) and Named Entity Disambiguation (NED/Entity Linking) of entities such as persons, organizations, places, events and objects according to the Customer’s current entity database.
• Quality improvements based on customer usage and feedback.

The Gender & Diversity module is used to automatically report identified gender & diversity representation numbers as based on mentioned entities.

The module consists of:

• Automatically identifies the number of unique male, female and unknown persons. This includes entities which are not included in the entity database.
• Automatically identifies the number of mentions of male, female and unknown persons. This includes entities which are not included in the entity database.

The Search module allow users to easily find and navigate your supplied content. 

The module consists of:

• APIs for supplying your content.
• Database system with carefully indexed copies of your content that allows for quick and adaptable search.
• Fast APIs for performing search with metadata weight boosting, relevance weighting, auto-completion and pagination.
• Fully equipped website search component that can easily be added to your website. The component is built to allow simple custom styling.

The Recommendations module helps users to easily find the next article to read.

The module consists of:

• APIs to request article recommendations based on article popularity, user interest, news value and common metadata.
• Recommendation weighting options.
• Script to easily integrate the service in the Customer website.
• Tracking of article visits and recommendation performance.
