The first half of the year has almost passed, and vacation time is soon here.
We want to share with you some of what we have focused on so far this year at iMatrics, which might interest you. You can find the summary below.

iMatrics Engine
- Possibility to implement hidden topics, if a category tag and a topics tag with the same title are returned; for e.g., Football, the topics are hidden.
- Customer-specific order of returned concepts, customers can decide the in which order they receive the different tag types.
- Update of Spacy V3, which has increased the performance of the entity tagging.
- Word refactoring to allow for new features, for instance, the new entity weighting, to be launched later this year.
- Improvement of gender analysis for Swedish customers.
- Continuous solving of minor fixes/bugs.
- Increased IT-security.
- Improvement of deployment processes.
iMatrics Web Portal
- Inactive categories and topics are now placed at the bottom during the search in Concept Management.
- Hidden topics are marked for better visualization.
- Improved logging, debugging, and error messages.
- Improved iMatrics Quality Assurance.

- Increased IT-security.
Plugin
- We have done updates in existing plugins to implement new functions.
- We have started building a new plugin for WordPress, and you find the first sneak peek here below.
Projects
We have done several projects and have chosen to highlight two:
- An ongoing project with Gota Media to implement personal recommendations on the start page based on our next-generation recommendation system. See below for an example.
- We are currently wrapping up an archive tagging project with NRC, tagging articles all the way back to the 1930s. Due to several changes in the language from the 1930s until now, we have worked with special rules to adapt our analysis to handle all the information.
Internally
- We had our first live Advisory Council since 2019. Let us know if you still require our summary.
- A Hackathon was performed and three significant topics from the event were: Transforming articles into social media posts, image metadata extraction, and creating a fan page for sports.
- We developed the new iMatrics Times, an internal tool where we can demonstrate several of our services to you.
- We saw the return of our intern, who helped us with daily operations and created iMatrics Wrapped.
- We have had two thesis workers who investigated grouping articles into different news topics and looked at how the news topics have been written about over several years.

- We updated our support routines, making it smoother for the customers.
